In memory of Tibians who passed away

Tibia is a place where we can meet all kind of people. We attempt virtual, but personal connections. How wonderful is this, that we sit in our room and we have the possibility to talk to people who come from different countries, from different sides of the Earth. We make friendships, sometimes we meet loved ones. We get to know about their hobbies and interests. Heartbreaking as it is, we need to face the loss of them. This time, we want to pay our respects to all our friends that have passed away. Our friends, whom we met in Tibia. Whom we cannot visit in the graveyard, we cannot put a flower on their graves. But they will stay in our minds, in our memories. Here are the stories of our dear departed friends. If you feel like, you can write your memory of your friend at peace in a comment. This should be a remarkable tribute to all of them.

Comodon
I would like to dedicate a few words to my mate Comodon, who unfortunately passed away this year. He joined our guild in 2006 and soon earned our trust and appreciation. He was a good friend, a patient leader and a helpful and a modest mate. He worked as a doctor in real life, a person with an authentic vocation, who treated his patients with respect and affection. He was a kind soul. He gave us good advices and told us that we should never give up because even the longest night comes to an end. He undoubtedly left an impact on Satori and left an impact on my heart for his warmth, temperance and generosity. I'm sure he left the same impact on his patients and real friends. Farewell, Doc.

 

 

Sulp Star

In my Tibian lifetime, 15 years now, there have been two people who have greatly impacted my life in positive ways.
 

The first person I would like to mention was named, “Sulp Star” in Tibia. He was a very kind person from Brazil. He always knew how to make everyone’s day brighter. He’d log in with a sweet smile, some kind words for everyone, some kisses for all “:**”, offered to help anyone who needed it... just a beautiful person. He never said a bad word about anyone.
 

Sadly, a few years into knowing him, he was diagnosed with Cancer. He was in his early 20’s at the time, and told me that the care in Brazil was not very good. He explained how the hospitals had rows of people in beds, even in the hallways. He told me that he did not think he would make it. We talked daily, and as the disease took an even stronger hold, he seemed to become that much kinder. His love, his spirit, his words.. they will live with me forever. I still have his letters with simple things on them like, “Hello! I hope you’re smiling today.”, or a simple, “love you!”.

Raul, aka Sulp Star, is greatly missed. I love you, Raul.  

Arwin Winddancer (aka Lady Rebel Rimule, Lyin’ Eyes)

The second person I’d like to share is GM Arwin Winddancer (aka Lady Rebel Rimule, Lyin’ Eyes). She was a close friend of some of my close friends who introduced us to each other. She had suffered a horrible loss in real life, which trickled into Tibia, and tried very hard to maintain her kindness through this horrible loss.

We’d have hours long conversations daily. She was such an interesting lady! She had so many stories to tell and was an open book. You could ask her anything and she’d gladly answer. I looked up to her like a Mother.

I remember one time there was a rumor going around about a “GM Darklord”. People in English and Help Chat were saying how this GM would pop in an BOOM! You’re banned! No questions, no chances, just banned! They talked about how unfair “he” was... Well, Rebel told me that there was no such GM. And then she had a thought! She said, hold on... brb and BAM! GM Darklord stood before me! She thought it would be hilarious to randomly pop in on those players spreading the rumor about this dreaded GM! And she did! She came back laughing so hard! One guy told her, “oh my gosh you made my day! I started the rumor to scare people and you scared the heck out of me! This is epic!”

She used to have fun creating new GM Characters. Her funny ones were GM Darklord and GM Gotcha.

She was in my guild and one of our guildies used to tell her, “I want your (GM) cape!” This went on for years and years... one day, she brought a gift box to him. He opened it up and said, “YOUR CAPE! YOU GAVE IT TO ME!” It was a ratty piece of cloth with a letter. She also gave him a goblet which read:

Two Thousands

I met Manny in depo years, years back when his character Two Thousands still existed. At first, we talked from time to time, whenever we saw each other in depot, it was mostly a small talk though. I eventually joined a guild that fought against his guild Grape Legion (The guild still exists and he’s still a member with his other char <3 ), but that doesn’t mean we stopped talking, on the contrary, we started talking more and more and eventually turned it into daily convos and finally talked outside Tibia too. Manny was sooo cheerful and goofy. He was also the most positive person I’ve ever met, with a very good energy. He even got me to hunt with him, and everyone who got to meet me knows that getting me to hunt on my character Lady Mass is mission impossible. 

 

On the 7th of May, 2018, I lost my pet that was with me for 17 years, and he cheered me up for a few days and then he just stopped talking. At first, I was mad at him. I thought he just quit without saying a word (he did it a few times in the past, but we weren’t as close back then). I was spamming him on fb and ig to let me know what’s happening and why he decided to quit, but I received no answer. 

 

Then by the end of the year, I looked up his IG again and I saw there was a tag on a picture, and the caption said something like “smoking one for my brother, RIP Manny”. I decided to message the girl and asked her what happened. “RIP” is sometimes used in a joking manner, so I hoped he just partied too hard and fell asleep or something. The girl let me know that he died in a car accident as a passenger in May and sent me the link to the newspaper describing the accident. My heart literally dropped when I saw the message, cuz that’s exactly what I was afraid to hear. I shared the information with some of his friends from the game, who also had no idea what happened to Manny all this time. He was a really, really great friend that would always hype me up and honestly, everyone NEEDS a person like that in their lives. May he rest in peace, I miss him a lot <3 

Ezekiel Kiuu/Luve Sapekah

She?, Ironically she lived attacking me, she hated me, she insulted me and I was afraid of her, she was level 180 and I was 90. This whole situation happened because I was the second to have Hunter Outfit in Fortera (the first was one of my best friends today, boyfriend in-game back then). She was one of the first PVP girls I met, we are talking about 2007-2011.

We played in Rubera which later became Fortera. Agnes was a cheerful, happy person, she was contagious with her energy. Personally, I think that if many of the girls in the community had the opportunity to meet her, they would feel inspired, she was a decorator, she had beautiful outfits and above all, she was an excellent PVP player, a target always contemplated by the cons, I hated wars but she was immensely happy killing players.

We were inseparable, we spent hours on Skype, I remember that she gave me advice on not using drugs, alcohol and even she was the first to know my life intimately.

Luiza/Agnes was Brazilian, she lived between Canada, Brazil and the United States (if I remember correctly), she was a tall girl with straight hair with a heart that did not fit on her chest and some adorable star tattoos on her shoulders, the only thing that notice and I could not change, it was how lonely she felt (outside the game) her real life, listening to her was very very sad.

Luiza, was extremely active, one day I woke up and she no longer answered my messages, emails, or post in "Metroflog", but she left me a letter in the DP giving me her Teddy Bear (which I still have), she told me that I was her "Bellota" and she my "Bombom”.

Later, for her relatives and family, we read the heartbreaking news of her death, the details I prefer to reserve out of respect for the members of the community who might have known her. Her death is not clear and they accused her of things I prefer not to believe. Agnes changed my life, my game and for 3 years she was that irreplaceable friend who leaves Tibia for the rest of my life.

We asked Cipsoft Community Support about their statement when it comes to using an account of someone who passed away, if it would be considered legal, what do they think. Here is what we received:

„This is indeed a tricky issue. Of course, we very much sympathize with the situation of relatives of players who passed away, and the desire to get access to the late loved one's Tibia account to preserve the memory is all too human. On the other hand, however, our position is still very much that accounts should be played by the people who created them, and by those players alone. Harsh as that may sound, therefore, we do not support such requests, even though I won't lie that the stories we sometimes hear about are truly heartbreaking. Incidentally, we have also decided not to put memorials of players into the game, even though we have received the occasional request and even though some very dear friends from the early days have passed away over the years as well ;/

I hope players understand our position - we really mean no disrespect, but a substantial number of problems would arise if we started to make special provisions for such sad occasions, including - but not limited to questions of verifying reports, the issue of fairness, e.g. why help some and not others etc. I sincerely hope players do not take this stance for indifference.”

Sign-Up for RADIANCE Has Started

Tibians, the start of RADIANCE, the second-to-last Tournament in Tibia is just around the corner! As part of the final three Tournaments, it will reward you with twice as many Tournament Coins as before the sunset. Get hold of Tournament Coins while you still can and sign up for RADIANCE now!

A ticket for your Tournament character is necessary to participate. 

In RADIANCE, your XP will progress 75x faster than on normal game worlds and skills even 100x faster. Also, skill gain, Bestiary and area discovery will yield points. Beware tough, killing certain creatures will substract points, e.g. sphinx, cobra assassin, werehyaena and spectres, so make sure to check which ones you better spare this time.
In addition, shared experience will be deactivated.

Keep in mind, that your playtime is always ticking down whenever you are online on your Tournament world. Once your daily playtime is depleted, you will be logged out of the Tournament and you can only log in again after the next server save. Once your total playtime is depleted, you will no longer be able to log in on the Tournament world. Please also note that if you log into a Tournament world and log out again before 120 seconds have passed, a total of 120 seconds will still be subtracted from your playtime.

All Tournament characters start with level 20, basic skills, and 20,000 gold on their bank account.

The golden horned helmet will be awarded to the winners. The cups will go to the top 3 of each Tournament world.

Check out the Tournament page to find details about rules, score set and rewards for RADIANCE. The Tournament itself will run from October 25, 10:00 CEST, to November 1, 10:00 CET.

Upon sign-up, you can select your Tournament world, your vocation and city to start in. More information can also be found in the Tournament FAQ entries.

New Open PvP Game Worlds

Attention, fellowTibians! Three new game worlds are about to be launched!

Next week, on Wednesday, October 20, CipSoft plans to set up three new Open PvP game worlds:

Trona (EU), Illusera (NA), Ocebra (SA)

These worlds will be protected by BattlEye and will be blocked for character world transfers for a significant amount of time. Please note, though, that depending on how their populations evolve, it may still be possible that these worlds will be opened for transfers or even be merged with other worlds at some point of time.

Initially, only Premium accounts will be able to play on Trona, Illusera, and Ocebra.

Protection Zone Achievements: Part Two

 

 

 

 

 

In Tibia we have many activities, we don’t only need to gain experience, kill bosses, get new outfits. We also can drink, eat and have parties! If we need some privacy, we can close windows and doors in our house or guildhouse and take a good rest. What if we would get achievement points for it? Let’s check what Protection Zone achievements we can do!

Berserker, Sharpshooter, Mastermind

Depending on your profession, you will obtain an achievement for three points. If you are a knight, you will need to drink 100 berserk potions to become a Berserker. For a paladin, 100 bullseye potions are needed to be a true Sharpshooter. Mastermind potions can be used by druids and sorcerers, and for the achievement Mastermind, a number of 100 needs to be drunk as well. You can of course drink it during your hunts to improve your skills, but if you need fast points, this is a perfect thing to do in your free time.

Potion Addict

Is it an addiction to drinking potions or to make achievements? We guess that you need to find the answer yourself! Our next achievement is Potion Addict (4 points). This is not strict-PZ achievement, but it can be done during making runes or just for fun if you have some spare potions. Keep in mind, that those 100,000 potions that your character needs to drink, can be all possible potions that regenerate your mana or health, or even both (spirit potions). That means, that you can use the smallest mana/health potions to get the achievement.

 

Cookie Monster

Some would say – only one achievement point for so much work?! Well, imagine eating those tasty cookies! For this achievement, you will need to bake 20 trays of cookies, which is 240 cookies in total! Share them with your friends if you won’t be able to eat them on your own. To make Cookies, you will need flour, milk, baking tray and simple oven.

 

 

 

 

The Cake’s the Truth, With a Cherry on Top, Make a Wish

We gonna have a party! Let’s bake 30 cakes to get The Cake’s the Truth (1 point) achievement. But don’t eat it yet! Okay, you can eat some, but put 20 of them in your backpack, prepare kitchen knife and twenty fruits (here you have a list which ones you can use to decorate your cake). While you use a knife on a fruit, your cake will be decorated and you will get the achievement With a Cherry on Top (1 point). Hungry again? You can eat 15 cakes. To obtain Make a Wish achievement (1 point), put five decorated cakes on a table/on a floor, and put the candlesticks on it. It is only needed now that you will blow the candles out. Congratulations!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Piece of Cake, Sweet Tooth

Since you already baked decorated cake, you only need to bake Chocolate Cake to get the achievement Piece of Cake (1 point). To bake it, you will have to repeat the steps of baking a normal cake. The difference is, that you will use the lump of cake dough on the Bar of Chocolate. Be sure to use lump ON the bar, if you use bar of chocolate first, you will eat it. Then use it with an oven and voila! Chocolate cake and new achievement! It is not over yet, though. Bake another 9 chocolate cakes to obtain Sweet Tooth (2 points) achievement!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rocket in Pocket, Fireworks in the Sky

There is no true Party without fireworks! For those achievements, you will need to buy 253 firework rockets. First, use three of them in your backpack. Easy one point! To get Fireworks in the Sky (2 points) you have to make a real firework show! Put them on the ground and use them there. A lot of work, huh? Time to rest some.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Let the Sunshine In, Do Not Disturb

The party is over, your character wants to rest. You closed your doors, but you still hear some party noises from the outside? Well, close the windows 100 times and you will show other players that they should Do Not Disturb (1 point) you! And, in case you change your mind, open the windows 100 times to Let the Sunshine In (1 point).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mister Sandman, Modest Guest, Rock Me to Sleep

Using a bed or a cot 500 times will grant you the achievement Mister Sandman (2 points). Nowadays, thanks to offline training, it can be a bit more time consuming than it was before. To have a successful try using a bed, you need to logout in it. For Modest Guest (1 point) you will have to repeat going-to-sleep routine 100 times, but this time on a Straw Mat. Using a hammock 100 times gives you the Rock me to Sleep achievement (1 point). You can either make those achievements by regularly putting your character to sleep everyday, or just make it in one day for fast points.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We asked some players, what do they think about achievements that we have mentioned in this article. Don’t forget to add your opinion in the comments down below.

Elyrea: I feel like these achievements depend on the type of person you are. If you just get them passively by putting your character to bed every night and eventually get the achievement, these achievements can be quite fun and a welcome surprise. If you're just after the achievement points, I found them to be a bother to myself as a player who has to log in and out repeatedly, but also to my poor fellow guild members who had to witness the messages of me logging in and out hundreds of times in the guild chat. At least you can now use every type of bed in every type of house, so you don't have to get multiple houses or ask friends for access to their house in another city just to get all achievements, so that helped a little.


Millie: I remember when I started on Instagram, I posted the first achievements I got. Those are so cool and fun, it also helps a lot for the people to meet the charlover world 😅, and in my opinion they are so easy and fun, also those motivate you to start working on those who need a little bit more of work and patience, this achievements are your way in to be called Charlover.


Melody Noir: Some achievements can be fun, and these were to me. However, I do suggest making sure no one in your guild is on when doing it. I had someone call me and ask if I was hacked and getting rooked because of how many times my character was logging on and off :D I intentionally put my character to sleep for these achievements. I like the old "Let the Sunshine In" song and its meaning, so I did that achievement first. If you don't know the song or know about it, look it up. It has a deep meaning.


Macgyver: At the beginning it was always fun to make achievements. The first one I got was "Rock Me to Sleep", I achieved it the normal way in a hammock at a house I had in Port Hope. I noticed when I was logging out a white text on the screen before I got disconnected. After that I went to check my account on the CIP website to see if anything changed. And I found it! After checking TibiaWiki I realized there were 2 more achievements by using a bed. If I remember correctly, the next one I got was "Modest Guest". I asked a friend if I could use his straw mat at his house on Liberty Bay. While I was doing it, a couple friends messaged and asked me "Are you ok?, What are you doing?" That was funny, but using the straw mat 100 times wasn't that much. But the achievement "Mister Sandman" was hardcore, using a bed 500 times it was something I didnt do at once.


Mihiron: 100 times opening and closing a window, huh? They were fun to make, I didn’t know about them when I got them. So it was very surprising!


Nanka: There is one thing I love about doing achievements. How connected they are to real life. I must say, dropping 250 items on a floor doesn't sound like fun at first. But, as always I like to see opportunities rather than obstacles, so why not invite a few good friends for a fireworks party? Every reason is good to celebrate, and I must say I have a very, very good, personal one! Be careful, place them safely at the ground, otherwise you might end up with a Rocket in Pocket and get a little bit of a burn! Which: definitely not fun!!! NURSE?!!!

Orcsoberfest

Do you want to party like there is no tomorrow? Ready for some fun activities? Then you are in luck, as Orcsoberfest is right around the corner!

It is time again for the orgers to get their fill of all the food and beer one could ever dream of, while diligent orcs work tirelessly to ensure that no plate and no stein is ever empty. Gain festive points by engaging in numerous activities, partake in the lottery to have a chance at winning great prizes or try to satiate King Chuck's voracious appetite in exchange for a reward.

As of server save on October 08, a tent will appear south of Thais. Inside is a teleport which is open to any Premium player, bringing you to Orcsoberfest island. Talk to your friendly neighbourhood orger Xaver first after your arrival or directly engage in the activities if you are an Orcsoberfest veteran.

The festival concludes on October 15. During the weekend after the event (server save on October 15 until server save on October 18) all game worlds will receive a 50% XP boost for creatures of the "demon" bestiary class.

Annual Autumn Vintage

The first batch of winterberries is finally ripe. Now it is time to produce some delicious berry juice during the Annual Autumn Vintage, which takes place from October 01-08, and again from October 17-24! Just make sure to take off your shoes and wash your feet before you start the treading!

During the event, winterberries can be looted from various monsters. Collect some of those berries and talk to the trusted member of the Combined Magical Winterberry Society. You will be sent to a secret location, where you can start your treading once enough winterberries have been delivered.
If you need further information about the treading process, just ask Gruffy.

Your world will succeed if enough loads of winterberries are processed in time to temporarily refine all health and mana potions of your world. Their effect will be enhanced by 33% for 7 days in case of success.

Player of the Month #15: Milny

Our Player of the Month for October is Milny! The Royal Paladin from Talera loves RPG and updates her Tibian Instagram frequently!

Could you introduce yourself? What’s your name, where are you from etc.?

-Hi tibians! My name is Milagros but my friends call me Milie, I'm from Venezuela and I'm 20 years old. 

 

How did you first hear of Tibia?

-The first time I heard about Tibia was on 2013 when I was 12 years old, and mostly my friends were boys and I always heard them talking about Tibia and how many levels they took, it was really fun heard them talking about it, but after couples of months I got tired of it because they were always talking about Tibia when we used to went to the park, and I was getting frustrated and upset because I couldn't understand what they were saying, a year and couple months passed by and I decided to create a character on Tibia, I named my first character Frezzita Elite on the server Luminera and I just loved it! It should be noted that my friends were never premium accounts, and I was the first one to get one because I started making friends and one of them gave me one as a present, but he used to get upset because I was not getting levels, and I still won't level! HAHAHAHAHA!

Is there a player you find inspiring?

-Of course! My goal in Tibia is to take as many achievement points, outfits and mounts as possible. Whenever I want to start working on an outfit or achievements and I don't feel motivated, I look up for Garoto Do Sorriso and how many achievements points and outfits he has, I really admire him because that's one of my main goals, if he could, why not me? So I would say he's my biggest inspiration.

 

What is the origin of your Tibia name?

-The name of my character is a combination between my name and a friend's name, like I said before my friends call me Milie and its because mostly all my characters are named Milie + something cute, this is because when I started playing on 2014 I used to be a big Miley Cirus fan, but I was a kid, so I had no idea how to write it correctly and instead of Miley I'd write Milie, and also when I used to play with my friend they called me Miley Cirus, in games and everything. So that's the origin of my name.

Do you consider yourself an ambitious person?

-Of course! It's always good to be a little ambitious in a nice way, just trust and be yourself. And on Tibia you have to be the same, trust in yourself and always be motivated to reach your tibian goals.

-This is a hard one because I really like free account cities like Thais and Carlin, but I also like premium accounts cities like Yalahar and Svargrond, so I think in this one I'll go for the free account cities.

-During the night, there's less lag. 

 

Decorating or making achievements?

-Achievements, no doubt.

Which server do you have the best memories from?

-Luminera! No doubt, it was my first server and it's so nice to remember all those memories with my RL friends and my tibian friend, it's so beautiful to remember and see how time flies, how I've grown up and how much I've achieved on Tibia. I remember I used to talk with him all the time in Thais, then I retired and came back after 7 years, I tried to contact him on Tibia groups but I never got an answer.

Do you think Tibia is a place that can give you real friendships?

-Definitely YES. I have known players who live near my house or who have friends in common and I had never noticed it, and Tibia brings us together because it is something that we like to share and creates a close relationship. But we also have to be aware of those red flags, behaviors and attitudes in some people you meet on Tibia, before you try to take your friendship outside the game and result in bad experiences because not making the right decision. 

 

Do you believe in zodiac signs?

-I don't believe in any of those things and much less in religions, a few friends know I am atheist and I don't follow any types of beliefs, and it's something I don't usually share.

What is your favorite thing to do in Tibia?

-Besides questing to get outfits, achievements and mounts, one of my passions in Tibia is decorate and I really enjoy it alot, even though it's something so exhausting and stressful, but when you see the final result it's all worth it! 

 

Define yourself as a player in 3 words.

-Outgoing, impatient and a big big charlover!

Do you have any encouraging words for the community?

-This might sound repetitive, but in Tibia and life in general this is something really important, and I'm talking about work and be consistent with yourself to achieve whatever your goal is, also you have to put limits on people and to bad comments that you might receive, that'd help to not to let you down and don't influence in your passion for the game, because in Tibia and in any other game, theres alot of mean people that thru the screen they can get you in many ways because they are frustrated with their lives, and they bully people on the game to feel better about themselves, that's why I recommend to work about the limits and the community , no just to play in peace but also for your mental health and inner peace. 

Play to enjoy, be yourself, have fun with this beautiful game and the most important, keep your real life a part of Tibia, because this is only a game!
