Player of the Month #9: Nanka

Our Player of the Month for April is Nanka. She is a druid with over 600 levels of experience, currently happily living on the server Secura!

Can you introduce yourself? What’s your name, how old are you, etc?
-Hi! My name is Kinga, I’m 27 years old. I play character named Nanka, elder druid with level 613 located in european Secura. I live in southern Poland. I’m mom of one and I work full time so most of my time I spend at work or taking care of my 6 years old son. If I don’t play Tibia, I like watching movies and TV series, hanging around with my friends,  Instagrammmin, cleaning and tidying up the house (I know, I know!  but it brings peace to my mind), and what is very connected to my job, travelling!
I politely asked my friend to describe me, and this is what he said: „you are kind, sometimes unpredictable, with mindset to achieve goals, you change plans often, you’re loyal, sensitive and sometimes lack selfdistance”. He also stated that it’s easy for me to talk with new people and I’m honest. I approve. There is important fact about me: I adore three things: pink, Taylor Swift and cats. Cats. Cats. Have I mentoned cats?

How did you start your Tibian journey?
-My Tibian journey started in 2007 when my older brother showed Tibia to me. I played constantly untill 2014, I’ve got many characters, but I always choose optional PvP. You could meet me at worlds like Candia, Guardia, Fidera, and now, Secura.

Then I took a break in 2014, decided to leave my old account and leave Tibia for good. I left Nanka as a noobchar at level 100.  The reason of my break was that I decided to get some rest from drama in game that I wasn’t handling well anymore, focus on my education, and in the meantime I decided to start a family.

I came back in May 2020 as a result of much free time due the pandemic. Again, it was my brother who sent me screenshot of level advancement. It triggered my to the point I bought Premium time before even loggin in. Thanks to Tibia and people that I met here I  survived  2020 and changed my life for good.

Is there any player that you find inspiring?

-There are a lot of players that I find inspiring. Almost every single invidual I’ve met in this game has brought something in my life. I’ve noticed I do that in real life as well, and I treat people in

game just like in real life. Throughout those years I came across very inspiring players in my Tibian life. One of them was definitely Nini from Olympa - now Monza. She’s retired now, but I remember being really impressed with her skills in game in Tibiacast, her ability to create her own community and how game seemed to be so fun for her. I don’t know her personally, but I’ve seen her with her friends and in my opinion it says alot about one. She literally created her own World – World of Nini. I even liked the similarity of our nicknames and love for the purple aesthetics!

I was always playing with lots of guys, and it brings specific consequences. I must admit, many times I caught myself being more focused not at my goals, but theirs.

Two nice ladies reminded me that I play for me and I should do what I love most, no matter what others think about it.

In this moment I’d like to say pretty, pretty thanks to both:
Kasia – Divine’Angel, Justyna – Lady Mass!

Thanks for countless hours that I sank in both of your Instagram profiles, inspired with deco, sense of humour, attitude, goals, various skills and passions. You both have no idea how much you gave me. Girls POWAH!

If you could only do one thing in Tibia, what would you choose? Hunting, getting achievements, or maybe questing?

-I love all mentioned above, but if I had to choose one, I’d choose hunting. The reason is not only getting experience and watching your character’s growth, but the fact that I get to have fun with people I like. Sometimes, I wonder what must everyone new who joins our team for random hunt, think. and… then I’d rather wonder no more… hahaha!  My polish & spanish hunting teams, I always say I love you and I really do!

Do you remember your first dragon?

-Unfortunately, no. Don’t judge me, but it just didn’t feel like an achievement. BUT! I can tell you literally ALL about my: first panther and all mounts, first and every house, history of my tibian names and colours… Priorities, people, priorities!

X or Y

Liberty Bay or Port Hope
-There was a time I’d say Liberty Bay, because I used to own three houses there and those times remind me of my nice comeback to Tibia. Things change, I moved to another city, I feel sentimental there but that’s it. Now I choose Port Hope. This is a place to meet my favourite monster – midnight panther. You can also get through the mountains to Darama, where I actually live now, there are the pharaohs, generous lady Scarlett Etzel, spectres I used to hunt… let’s say Port Hope is just way more fun because of multiple possibilities that island as a whole provides.

Wear only citizen outfit or wear only donkey mount?

-I don’t think it’s possible for me to stick with one outfit forever, so I’d go with wear only donkey mount, which I wouldn’t use anyway because I don’t use mounts unless it changes my speed on certain floors. (am I using a loophole here?)

Catacombs or Prison?

-To be honest, I hunted catacombs when I was really low level (too low?) so I might be bias, I’d go

with Prison, I had my fun there!

Open PvP or Optional PvP

-Definitely Optional PvP, I’ve been there forever! There is a funny story of my first steps in tibia in around 2007, I got out of my safe Rookgaard, my first character was located in Open PvP server. When I’ve noticed people killing each other I wanted to go back to Rookgaard. Like badly. This way  I’ve learnt that there are different kinds of servers and actually: never came back there. Optional PvP ever since!

Buying items or looting items?
-Can I go with both? Looting items feels good, but in many cases it takes alooot patience and time which I don’t really have. Okay, The Spikes Project is the exception! But if I gotta choose, I choose buying.

Having no ultimate mana potions or no exura vita?

-This one is easy, with or without void imbument, I always keep up with my mana and I even talk to my hunting mates about theirs (Sorry, pals!)… I’d be okay without ultimates, but without exura vita, never.

Rookgaard or Dawnport? -Sentimentally: Rookgaard

Practically: Dawnport
I can’t see myself leveling up bunch of noob characters with an old Rookgaard way, gosh!

Elementalist or summoner?

-Ah! Here it is, the trickiest question of em all... If I had both addons of those outfits I’d wear summoner for sure. But for now, elementalist is easier for me to achieve, and I stick with this one.

Use different colors forever or a different character’s name?

-I’m a charlover for life, I feel attached to my character a lot, including the name which was around in this or that version for so long, that I can’t see myself changing or giving up the „Nanka” name ever. I’ve had my own colors for like ten years, it seemed to me I was attached to this as well, but my love for pink changed it all.  So… Use different colors forever!

Achievements or titles?

-Definitely achievements, once you got them nobody can take them from you. I liked them a lot the moment they were introduced to game, I found it as a nice new thing to spend your time and cash on. Also, you can express yourself, your personality, your life situation by them. My favourite ones: „Drama in Darama”, „Commitment Phobic”, „Heartbreaker”, „Starless Night”, „Nothing can stop me”, „Hunting with Style”. Well done, you got me there, Cipsoft!

When I came back in 2020 the titles were already there, it feels nice to get one but as soon as I get one I really like, I don’t think I’d be targeting any of them more.

Which of the upgrades available in the coins store are the best, in your opinion?
-The upgrades I use the most is experience boost, I have also bought the prey slot and I think that’s it. The best, best, best things I see there are the decorations. The deco situation I left Tibia with in 2014 and new Store decoration isn’t just another level, it’s a whole new universe. Sky is not the limit, money is, hah!

What was the biggest goal that you managed to achieve in the game, or maybe you are working on something right now?

-The biggest goal I managed to achieve is getting my 600 level and 116 magic level by myself, but

with presence and support of my friends.. I’m quite proud of it, I had great fun getting there. Till the end of this year, I want Nanka to be 700 and wield power of magic level 120. We will see about that. There is one thing I’m also proud: Nanka haven’t died since almost 300 levels. Last randez-vous with Henricus I had after meeting UE from Gaz’haragoth on level 337!

If you check my Instagram profile, you find out that I have my personal „The Spikes project”. I made my goal to create or buy characters with at least level 100 and get them access to Reflection of a Mage which rumourly has drop of Elemental Spikes needed to complete the Elemental Outfit. I kill it every week, no luck so far. I post the progress within every Monday on IG.

I made myself a promise not to buy spikes, but it didn’t include other items. So, I just bought a really nice mount item: a library ticket. Flying on a book feels and looks amazing!

The ultimate-addon goal is getting a Ferumbras’ hat, but not anytime soon, unless I drop one which with my luck is… a quarter to never.

Define your favorite vocation in 1 sentence.

-It might sound cliche, but druid is my favourite vocation because it requires being: responsible, reasonable, predicting, reliable, fun, multitasking, helpful, caring, full of empathy. I think I just described qualities I value in life, haha!

Do you think it is possible to find true friendship in Tibia?
-I don’t think it’s possibile: I’m SURE, it is! The tibianfriendships are just like in real life: you need a bit of luck to find a right person, your intentions have to be pure, you need to be genuine and honest to make it work. There is no force of any kind or side.

Even though, you might have the luck to find right ones, but when your intentions aren’t pure

and you are hard to copy with in a long term it just won’t work. You are going to end up switching teams forever or even alone. People will stand you only because they have some profit of you, but even this might not be enough to keep them.

Despite all the effort and care I had people leaving my side and I had to leave people as well. In the end… it’s all definitely worth it. I’ve got a few relations in my tibian and real life that so far last my tibian and real life time and I’m super grateful for every each of them.

Would you recommend others to play on your server?

-One thing you probably already know - Secura is the most crowded, full of drama, full of events, but still full of fun world.

Bosses: amazing, it’s easy to find a team for bosses, even for long term. In the other hand, on crowded hours you might find yourself waiting for bosses in queue. Long one.

Hunting: it’s easy to find a team, but hard to find a spot. If I haven’t muted my discord at my phone, around 12 pm I get quite a spam! For the most wanted spots here like Buried Cathedral or Ice section in Library, people created discords, in orded to hunt there you have to sign a day or even two before. It has its perks, but with this amount of people and my lifestyle I personally appreciate this way much. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have to fight for the spots or there aren’t any problems there at all. But if your team is made of 4 or 5 adult people, you all have work or/and kids, it’s really challenging to make it work.

I recommend Secura if you like people, you can talk your way trough the crowd and you have much time to play and whole lots of patience. There are so many guilds that you sooner of later find what you like. Make sure you are immune to what people say about you, and you can nod your head still knowing your worth.

I don’t recomment Secura (or even Tibia?) if you lose your temper easy, you expect free hunting spots all the time or you are not able to let things go when they need to be.

Do you have any encouraging words for the community?

-Don’t let anyone discourage you from doing what you love. What I’ve learnt so far, that in order to live with full inner peace is: get your mind, words and action all the same way.  Have fun guys, out there!

A Chylling Experience

Hear ye! Hear ye! An icy bridge reaches toward an isle of frost and hidden fire, with cold-hearted monsters grim and dire.

A cold storm is coming from the north. The howling wind whispers stories of an old and forgotten frozen island. What was once a lush and beautiful paradise is now an everlasting ice desert dominated by various kinds of monsters. Deep down inside the isle and locked in ice, a once so proud race - the ursagrodon – is sleeping and vigilantly waiting to be freed again...

From April 01 on until May 01, the island Chyllfroest will be accessible once again for all premium players. West of Svargrond, an icy bridge has formed. This bridge makes it possible to access this special island. You will find different dungeons with various creatures for different level ranges there.
If you are exploring Chyllfroest deeper, you might also find one of the famous frozen ursagrodons which can be thawed and tamed with some luck.

But be aware: Rumour has it that yetis have been seen on this island, before, too.

Enjoy spring, froest is coming...

Protection Zone Achievements (Part One)

There are no safer achievements than the ones we can do in the Protection Zone. Some are quick and easy, others are time-consuming. Are you curious which are the cheapest and which are the most expensive ones? Maybe you would like to increase your guild's average achievement points? In this article, you will find out how to do it in a fairly easy way.

Be an artist!

Ice Sculptor, Cold as Ice, Marblelous, Marble Madness

Let's start with the achievements, which take some patience to complete them. Thanks to the Colors of Magic event, our task will be easier, we just need to make sure that the Orange Wizard wins. Save the ice cubes and pieces of marble rock for the event in March or September - you will be able to choose the Wizard between the 15th and 23rd of these two months. If Orange Wizard wins, the best moment to use ice cubes and marble rocks will be the reward week after the event is over - from server save on 23rd March / September. Marblelous and Ice Sculptor will be easier to get, since it’s just one statue that we need to make. According to different people’s opinions, Marble Madness (five Beautiful Marble Statues) is much easier to obtain than Cold as Ice, since you need a lot more ice cubes to complete it. It would be good if you had around 2000 ice cubes for the event. If you are lucky, you will finish this achievement with those. However some people say, they needed 4000 cubes.

Clay Fighter, Clay to Fame

Similar to aforementioned achievements, those ones also needs patience. It is a matter of luck whether we manage to make Pretty Clay Statues or not. Unfortunately, no event will increase the chances of success. The best way to get those achievements would be to either buy Clay Lumps on market or to use them on an ongoing basis when making Bestiary on monsters that drop that item. Considering the fact, that we talk about achievements that we can make in Protection Zone, we suggest to either buy it or just collect it during your hunts.

Chorister, Rockstar

We were already a sculptor, time to develop our musical abilities! For Chorister achievement, you will require four Music Sheets, which are dropped by different members of the Cult. Of course, you can also buy them on market. Price may differ on various worlds, but usually it is pretty low. Besides the achievement, you will also gain access to cultists cave beyond the piano. You will find the cave north of Liberty Bay. To be a Rockstar, you will need a lot more patience. For our sake, the counter of already played instruments won’t reset after logging out, so you will be able to make it in parts. You will obtain this achievement after playing any musical instrument of your choice for 10,000 times.

Forbidden, but fancy approved

Forbidden Fruit, Forbidden Knowledge

What is the most expensive fruit in Tibia? If you don’t know the answer, you probably didn’t eat it yet. Since Forbidden Fruit is only dropped by one boss (The Enraged Thorn Knight), price of
it is pretty high and can spread between 5-15kk, depending on your server. If this is expensive, we don’t know how to name the price of Forbidden Tome and Key to Knowledge. Both of those achievements gives 1 point each, and you need to eat the fruit, else you won’t be able to use the key on the tome. If you have luck, maybe you will get those items cheaper than they cost.

Mente Brilhante: I paid 25kk for the key, I bought it in Gentebra market as anonymous. I love achievements. I found a great price, as it is usally worth between 50-100kk. My team looted Forbidden Tome and I bought it for 13kk. 38kk for 1 point achievement.

Make your own Achievement Room!

To prepare a room of achievements, you will need some items that could be collected from monsters. Other items you will get through quests, fighting bosses or by buying them in furniture shop. If you want to make this room for your guildmates, it would be a nice idea to also collect clay lumps, flasks of demonic blood, rusty armors etc., shiny stones and sort them in backpacks, so they could be used later on.

Allowance Collector (2 points)

Nowadays a lot of bosses drop Piggy Banks. You can make packs of 50 piggy bank each and give them out to any guildmember who needs the achievement. After breaking it, you can deposit the collected money to your Guild account.

Demonic Barkeeper (3 points)

It is really possible, that some of your solo-hunting guildmates have already that achievement. Maybe they could donate all the collected flask which they don’t need for other members, who would need those 3 points. Simply make packs of 250 flasks of demonic blood each, and let your mates use them. Strong health and mana potions could be then used by lower characters on their adventures.

I Need a Hug (2 points)

This is a must-have set in your room! Put Panda Teddy, Stuffed Dragon, Santa Doll and Baby Seal Doll in a visible place, and let your friends hug them. Easy two points!

Number of the Beast (2 points)

Another easy achievement, not much to say! Prepare a die and roll it till you get a 6 three times in a row.

Oops (2 points)

Each of players who will want to make this achievement will need a birdcage for herself/himself. We know that you don’t want to harm any animal, but in case to get those 2 points, you will need to use the birdcage until this sweet little bird will die from heart attack. Oops!

Party Animal
(1 point)

What would be a guild-meeting without a party? Probably some serious stuff. Give a Party Trumpet or a Party Hat to your friends and let them use it 200 times. One point and a lot of fun (and sore fingers) guaranteed!

Petrologist (2 points)

Here we go again! Collecting items. Prepare stacks of 100 shiny stones and let your guildmates open them with a pick. After opening them, your guild will be more rich in coins and small diamonds.

Polisher (4 points)

Considering, that you will need to collect a lot of rusty stuff, this achievement would be the most time-consuming in general. To get it, we need to polish 1000 rusty armors, helmets, legs or shields. Some of those can break, so remember that only succeessed ones will count to the achievement. Each of your members can make their own backpacks and count how many they already polished.

Slim Chance (1 point)

Buying a map – putting it in achievement room – waiting for your members to try to find the treasure. 100 times. Yes, it’s a fake map, they will never find it. Nevertheless, your guild will get some easy points. So maybe, in the end, it is some kind of treasure!

Superstitious (2 points)

All you need is to put 100 mysterious Voodoo Skulls in your amazing achievement room. 2 points in one day. Else, it will be time-consuming, because you can use that skull only once each 24 hours. This is of course no problem, if you have less - it will just take a longer time. Remember, that this item has own cooldown. That means, that only one person can use it before it will be usable again. „It is not time yet” won’t count to successful using.

Vanity
(3 points)

That’s all for today. You can look at yourself in the mirror and see how good achievement-hunter you are. Put a wall mirror on one of walls, prepare some rum or other alcohol and tell your friends to use the mirror 300 times. Every message except „Don’t be so vain” will count towards the achievement.

Would "achievement room" prepared in a Guild House encourage you to make easy achievements that can be done in PZ?

We asked some players what do they think about the idea of achievement room. We tried to get an answer from people who are not necessarily interested in making achievements to get an opinion from different points of view. If you are already an achievement hunter, you probably have most of all mentioned achievements, but if you have friends who were never interested in them, maybe they will change their mind now? Or atleast try to have some fun in prepared room of achievements. Let us know in the comments what do you think, or maybe you already made this kind of room? All feedback is welcomed!

Sylvana Blackarrow: It is more comfortable but it is also nice to work for them. Obviously if you are lazy it might be a good idea that option. But there is no challenge in it. I prefer challenges, but I am not specifically after achievements. I don't pursue them, if they happen - they happen.

Neophyte Believer: Of course. That sounds like a great idea because it sounds like a good rewarding for some grinding and also a little bit of a variety is always welcomed as far as I can see it.

Impure: I think this kind of an achievement room would be a nice thing to have. The most bothersome thing about these achievements (especially the flowers) is getting everything ready, once you have everything it becomes just a small daily routine. If you care for total/average achievements of your guild it might be a great idea, as multiple people can get their achievements done without each of them having to collect all the required items. And having all of them in one room is definitely very convenient. Generally it's not like I'm not interested in achievements at all, but they're just not my main interest in the game. Mostly I dislike the huge discrepancy between different achievements, some of them are way too time consuming or expensive compared to others. I know that I'm most likely never getting achievements like "Umbral Master", "Fearless" or "Deep Sea Diver", so I will never be anywhere near the top lists, which kind of makes me lose motivation for the whole thing. I am getting an achievement every now and then but I will probably be content with 700-800 points.

Asteiro: Idea of achievement room is quite interesting, especially for people who really wants to get some of them really fast. Personally I'd rather not take part in it as achievements means nothing to me. Everyone on Tibia has their own goals, some of them want to get better skill or level, some are into lore and knowledge about the world, another ones just like to sit together with friends and have a great time chatting. Other things don't really interest them. So even if I could get a lot of achievements, I wouldn't take part in it, that's not what I wanna do in Tibia lands ^^

Colours of Magic

The wizards Furb of Fun, Feiz of Power, and Fern of Nature are back in the land of Tibia, competing for the votes of the Tibian citizens. You can now decide again who is the most popular wizard among them in your game world.

Starting with today's server save, various monsters will drop envelopes with red, blue, or yellow powder. If you want to know how to colour yourself and mix colours, check the letter that is included in the envelopes.

If you are interested in further facts about the event, please check with the wizards' loyal fans: Friedolin, the fan of the orange wizard awaits you in Carlin. Paulette supports the violet wizard and can be found in Thais. Representing the green wizard, Nathaniel stands in Venore.
During the competition, you will receive bonus points, which you can trade with these three supporters of the wizards after you have chosen your colour.
Use the bonus points to get your own chess box if you did not possess one yet. If you have one already, you can complete your set of Zaoan chess figurines made of jade and obsidian.

Time to decide which team you go for since each of the three offers a different special reward. Depending on the wizard with the most followers on your game world on March 23, server save, your world will benefit from one of the following rewards for one week:

  • Furb of Fun (orange): The shared experience bonus in party mode will be raised by 30%. The chance to successfully sculpt from ice cubes and marble will be multiplied by 10. Also, fireworks rockets, party trumpets, snowballs and party hats can be found in all the creatures which dropped envelopes.
  • Feiz of Power (violet): The majority of spellcaster creatures such as ice witches or draken spellweavers, for example, will give 25% more experience points. In addition, the skill bonus of berserk and bullseye potions will be raised to +7, and the shielding decrease will be set to -8 instead of -10. The magic level bonus of mastermind potions will be raised to +5.
  • Fern of Nature (green): All health and mana potions will be enhanced by 10%.
