Familiars, Colourisable Mounts, and More

Quick looting is meant to ease the often tedious looting process for players. In its current form, it does not reach this goal fully, as squares might have to be checked with "Browse Field", if several corpses lie on top of each other. A new Quick Looting Extension will let you quick loot a stack of corpses with the click of a button, which works with up to 30 corpses on one field. This new functionality will be active by default, but can be deactivated to make use of the old quick looting mechanic.

Familiars and Colourisable Mounts

In order to further enrich your possibilities to personalise your character, we are introducing familiars, which are different appearances of your mighty summon, as well as the option to change the colour of specific mounts.

A Krakoloss awaits you

The "Customise Character" dialog now lets you colourise mounts, just like how outfits are colourised. Please note that this will only work with certain new mounts, not old ones. The first of these colourisable mounts will be introduced in the winter update. For the sake of convenience you can copy the outfit's colours to the mount, and likewise, you can copy the mount's colours to the outfit.

New familiars can be summoned

New familiars (SnowbashSandscourgeMossmasherBladespark) can be gained in the upcoming winter update as well, one for each vocation. It will then be added to your already existing one, and despite looking completely different than the old summoned creature, it will not change the mechanics of your mighty summon. The familiar can now be viewed and selected in the "Customise Character" dialog, though it cannot be colourised. The spell names will be changed to (summon) Knight Familiar, (summon) Paladin Familiar, (summon) Sorcerer Familiar and (summon) Druid Familiar. The familiars that a character owns can be viewed in the character tab of the Cyclopedia, under "Appearances". They will also be displayed in the Char Bazaar.

Exercise Weapons with Greater Charges

Since training with several exercise weapons is a time consuming affair which does not require much, but still occasional attention, we are introducing new versions with greater charges. There will be "enhanced" and "masterful" versions of the six existing exercise weapons in addition to the standard ones, which will stay as they are. "Enhanced" exercise weapons will have 1,800 charges (sold for 90 TC/945,000 gp) while "masterful" exercise weapons will have 14,400 charges (sold for 720 TC/7,560,000 gp). These new versions are otherwise identical to the old exercise weapons: They are sold by the same NPCs in the same category, they cannot be bought in Tournaments and players will not be logged out due to inactivity when using them.

Reward Streak Protection, Damage Input Analyser

Failing to check in one day and losing your hard earned reward streak can be a frustrating experience. The new Reward Streak Protection will alleviate this situation as it gives players the opportunity to save their reward streak in such a case.

Each character receives one daily reward joker on the first server save of each month. They can accrue up to three of these daily reward jokers, which will be displayed in the reward wall. The character selection receives a new column which shows whether the daily reward has been already collected since the last server save.

The new daily reward jokers each compensate for one server save cycle during which the daily reward has not been collected. For instance, if you have two daily reward jokers and forget to collect the daily reward for two server save cycles while having an active streak of five days and only collect the reward within the third server save cycle, the two daily reward jokers will be used up and your streak will be increased to six days. If you would not have at least two jokers in this case, the daily reward streak would be reset when collecting the reward.

Damage Input Analyser

This new tool, which will be integrated into the analytics selector, provides you with a detailed overview of the damage you receive, serving as a counterpart to the impact analyser. It shows you the following information:

  • Total: The total amount of damage a character has taken from any source.
  • Max-DPS: Maximum damage per second, the maximum amount of damage a character has taken in one second.
  • Damage graph: Depicts the "damage taken per second" amount over time as a graph.
  • Damage Types: Lists the received damage by type, sorted by the highest amount in descending order.
  • Damage Sources: Lists the received damage by source, sorted by the highest amount in descending order. Limited to the five highest entries.

Displaying the damage graph, damage types and damage sources can be individually disabled. Like with the impact analyser, either recent values or session values can be shown. Speaking of which, the impact analyser will receive the same kind of damage types listing as well, which can be disabled, like in the damage input analyser.

Highscores Filter Extension

The highscores filter options, which have been improved already in this year's summer update, have received further additions. It will now be possible to filter highscores on the website and in the client by world type and BattlEye status to provide the player with even more ways to look for specific data.

We hope you enjoy the new features,

Call to Adventure

It had been a couple of months since Redwin had last set foot in Liberty Bay. He was kept busy by his work as a mariner which had now brought him to Venore, and a certain quaint encounter during a rainy, starless night was pretty much all but forgotten. Having already unloaded the cargo, he had the rest of the day off and decided to wander the narrow streets. It was not his first visit to the city, and a shop unfamiliar to him caught his eye. New merchants liked to offer low prices when they opened their store in order to carve out their share of the market, so Redwin decided to enter, looking for a bargain.

"Good day.", he greeted the trader.

"Ah! I thought you'd be here a bit earlier, but beggars can't be choosers, right? Well, better late than never."

A big grin met a confused face.

"Pardon?" was what finally came over the sailor's lips.

"You must be Redwin, right? I've been expecting you."

"Wha–"

"Merton told me that you would pay me a visit. I have to say, I am delighted to meet you!"

"Oh no."

"We, that is, the Venorean traders – but truly everyone living on the shores and involved in seafaring – is in dire need of your help."

"Look, I'm really not interested in–"

"You like to negotiate, I see. I admire that! Don't worry, you do something for me, I'll do something for you."

"You'll leave me alone?"

"Better! I'll tell you all about the path to your destiny!"

"My... destiny?"

"The adventure of a lifetime, my boy. A young fella like you should up and see the world!"

"... right. I'll get to that when I got the time. I have a job, you know."

"Yeah, but... opportunity calls!"

"I'm not hearing anything, and even if I were, I would not call back. Now, if you will excuse me."

"Hang on a second."

For whatever reason, Redwin stayed his outstretched hand, the doorknob in reach.

"Just help me out with this pirat problem and I'll tell you the location of a secret passage. Follow it and you'll meet my business partners who coincidentally also need your help. Though they might not trust you right away. But then again, for somebody like you it shouldn't be a problem to gain their trust."

"Wait, what? I'm supposed to help you in order to have the privilege of helping out some other guys? And who are those folks you are dealing with anyway? Probably bandits and smugglers."

"Bandits? No, though they do wear masks.", Eustacio chuckled, before becoming serious again.

"Look, I understand that you might be skeptical, but if you follow your path, rich reward awaits you at the end!"

"Yeah, right. No thanks.", said Redwin, as he left the store in a hurry, Eustacio's words of paths and destinies following him out the door. He uttered a sigh of relief only as his ship finally left the harbour again. Up in the crow's nest he was gazing over the billowy blue of the ocean as his mind began to wander. What strange events these had been...

Tall Tales

It was already dark when Redwin entered The Jolly Seahorse. Lyonel worked the bar as always and Bradford's singing unsuccessfully tried to drown out the lively conversations of the tavern guests. The young sailor ordered a beer – a few barrels had made it to this establishment for a change – and looked for a relatively quiet corner to enjoy his beverage. Concentrating on the foamy, gently swaying surface, he sat down.

"Hello there, laddie! Let me tell you something, will ya?"

An old mariner appeared seemingly out of nowhere and took seat on the opposite side of his table.

"Wha– Sorry, do I know you?", asked Redwin, bewildered.

"Don't think we've met, name's Merton. I've been travelling the high seas since I was a wee lad, and I have many a tale to tell."

"I'm sure you do, but I'd rather just enjoy my brew in solitude if you don't mind, it's been a long day and–"

"Now hold on there, laddie. This is important. Let me tell you about something which is vital to the wellbeing of our fair cities and coasts."

Redwin's eyes darted across the room, to see if anyone could help him out of this unfortunate situation. Not finding any assistance, he resigned himself to his fate. Letting out a heavy sigh he looked into the depths of his beer mug. The white froth was now but a distant memory and its disappearance had revealed the dark liquid below.

"It's the darndest thing, I tell ya, laddie. You see, there are these pirats."

He paused.

"And...?", did Rewin finally inquire, exclusively out of courtesy, rathern than genuine interest.

"Pirats. Don't you find that the least bit curious?"

"Not really, since it's not the first time I've heard a sailor's yarn."

"No, you don't understand, laddie. They are pi-rats!"

"Yeah, yeah, pirates, I get it. Disreputable folk roaming the oceans. I'm familiar with the concept."

"No, they are rats! Pi-rats!"

"Oh. Yes, of course. Of course they are." It took all of Redwin's willpower not to roll his eyes. "Well, it was good talking to you, but I really need to get going, I think I left the oven on and my house is probably burning down right now, so I better take a look at tha–"

"Enough with your idle prattle! I told you, this is important!"

"More important than not burning down Liberty Bay...?"

"These pirats are a threat to us all! They pillage and plunder, they raid our shores, they–"

"I get it, they must be stopped."

"Exactly! So, travel to Venore and talk to Eustacio there. He'll fill you in on the details."

"Sorry, what? No, I didn't mean stopped by me. I want to have nothing to do with this."

The old sailor looked at him for a moment with a blank expression on his face before it burst out of him:

"Curse you! May Sula strike you down, Redwin! ARRR!"

The young seafarer, bemused and befuddled by this sudden onset of rage, sighed inwards.

"Have it your way then; should I ever end up in Venore, I'll look for this Pistachio guy, trust me, I will, no doubt about it.", he replied at last, tiredly, before moving out of his seat, leaving his beer mostly untouched.

"I'm glad I could reach you, laddie! I'll tell Eustacio of your arrival! You need to find the pirats!", Merton shouted after him.

Redwin wrapped his cloak tightly around himself before braving the rainy, starless night, as he moved through the cobbled streets of Liberty Bay. The only thing he was sure of needing was to avoid The Jolly Seahorse for a while, as it dawned on him that Merton had known his name, despite him not mentioning it once.

1. New house spell: prevent players from moving house items

"Abstract

Currently there is no way to prevent people from moving items around in houses. This is a problem with open houses: houses in which the owner has granted access to a large number of people, usually their guild or the entire server, so that everyone can take advantage of their dummies, hireling, etc.

Problem

Store items, in conjunction with furniture and beds, can be moved around maliciously to block entrance to the house. There have been many times I have arrived at my house to find someone has moved my exercise dummy into the door tile and blocked it off with furniture behind it, so that nobody else is able to enter.

Solution

I am proposing a new house spell that gives house owners control over who can move items around. My suggestion is alana ani. Its pronunciation is similar to the paralyse spell, but with the house prefix:

al: house, ana: cancel/remove, ani: movement.

Any characters on this list will be unable to move items around.

Players must still be able to interact with items such as the reward shrine, mailbox, exercise dummy, imbuing shrine, hireling. For this to be possible, the context menu would still contain use and use with as actions. Whether players are able to open containers is up for debate. The trade with, rotate and wrap actions should be disabled.

Certain store items such as floor coverings could have use disabled, to prevent people from rolling them up.

Problems with the proposed solution

This new house spell works in the opposite way to all of the other house spells. All other house spells grant a privilege to a player, while this one revokes it. This might be a source of confusion.

I considered the opposite approach (i.e. the default is nobody can move items, but characters on the list can), but this would not be backwards-compatible with the current system, as it would require every house owner in Tibia to update this new list. For this reason, I think that allow by default is the correct approach.

It would be possible for players to use rare items such as vibrant egg. House owners should be made aware of this, and not put consumable items on the floor where other players can access them.

Consequences

With this change implemented, I envisage a more open Tibia, with players granting wider access to their houses and purchasing more items from the store, knowing that the rest of the server will be able to utilise from their generosity.

Larger guilds will be able to benefit from this change too, by permitting new recruits entry to their guildhall without worrying that they will steal anything or vandalise the place." - Kikaro

Your Goals #10: Ohin: The legend of the club.

I came back to Tibia roughly in 2013, and back then the game felt completely different than the game I knew when I was still in school. I chose a knight, since that was my vocation before as well, and just like old times, I realized a Knight was just as good as their Skills, so I spent the first few months just training on the Dwarves in Cormaya. Back then the classes were more balanced, but Club Weapons seemed to be the cheapest, so I decided to go with them, since after Skills, the equipment seemed to be the most important part of an EK, and having access to some cheap upgrades seemed like a must. Little did I know how much this would impact my future.

I started playing on North American Servers, but moved to Europe IRL and decided to come to Antica. Antica is a wonderful server (not without its problems mind you), but full of old-timers. Some of the older EKs here had amazing skills, and that was something I always looked up upon.

After a while, CipSoft introduced two new features to the game that also changed what I had my eyes set on: Titles and Exercise Weapons. I will not lie, I was really fascinated with having "Legend of the club" displayed next to my name. But by that time I didn't have the patience to train online anymore, and offline training, while a great tool, would not be enough. You see, despite everything I like to enjoy the game and all its content, be it hunting, exploring new areas, or doing Quests and Bosses with friends. And, of course, those come with an inherent risk of dying. It's no news to any of us that the death penalties in Tibia are what keeps the game interesting because they are really brutal. In the case of skills, one single death can mean weeks of training lost, and, as the saying goes, "The higher you climb the farther you fall", so climbing the ranks of the Highscores list was never an easy task.

That's where the new Exercise Weapons came into play. They gave us a means of training online which was previously not possible. This gave me a new tool to try and secure the Legend of the Club title, which I finally managed back in the beginning of this year.

But the fight is not over. In between deaths and other players competing for the title, the hustle continues. Right now my #TibiaGoal is to get to Club Fighting 130, hopefully by the end of the year.

This should be especially feasible since I'm gonna be home for Christmas, and we usually get a Double Skill event during that time, so I've already started collecting the money! The only hard thing is explaining to my family why does my phone alarm goes off every 16min40sec, but we gotta do what we gotta do!

New Open PvP Game Worlds

Attention, fellow Tibians! Three new game worlds are about to be launched!

Next week, on Wednesday, October 21, we plan to set up three new Open PvP game worlds:

Adra (EU), Wizera (NA), Utobra (SA)

These worlds will be protected by BattlEye and will be blocked for character world transfers for a significant amount of time. Please note, though, that depending on how their populations evolve, it may still be possible that these worlds will be opened for transfers or even be merged with other worlds at some point of time.

Initially, only Premium accounts will be able to play on Adra, Wizera and Utobra.

Into the fray!

New decorative items! 9.10.2020

N
ew decorative items have arrived to the Store today. Channel your inner blacksmith with the Smithy Furniture Bundle and other assorted items to show friends and acquaintances that the talents of a true artisan reside within you.

Not everyone is made out to work the Forge as you have
to be able to withstand its fiery heat.

The Pair of Bellows fan the flames of the forge, making the
fire hot enough for the smith to properly work the metal.

This Grinding Wheel has seen many a blade being sharpened against its unrelenting surface and bears the marks to prove it.

The Anvil may well be called the heart of the smithy, where all creations take shape under the mighty blows of the hammer.

While not truly a common site in a blacksmith's workplace, this Baby Elephant will keep you company during the arduous workday. It can cool itself off too, should the fires of the forge get too hot.

Having been smithed to last, the Wrought-Iron Bed with its sturdy frame is a fine piece of craftsmanship.

When bought, these items are directly delivered to you as decoration kits, which can be unwrapped inside your house. The unwrapped decoration items are non-takeable and also indestructible!

The use of PVP hand modes - Hand mode and tricks in open pvp

Hello Tibians! This article, for some of us, might seem quite obvious, nevertheless, we've realized that for some people, the use of PVP hand modes is still confusing so we would like to help you clear your doubts, once and for all!

1. White hand mode

The white hand    can only be used when the orange square surrounds the enemy skulled (PK)

These orange squares will appear only when and if someone attacks a player from your own guild, or a member of your party nevertheless the PK will lose this orange square if his victim (your guildmate or party friend) dies under his attack. The benefit of using the white hand mode is that you WON'T get pz locked by attacking or killing a PK, this means you will be able to enter a Protection Zone at any point.

This hand is mostly used to support a player from either your guild or your party by using mana potions on them or healing spells.

Note: With white mode activated you risk opening pvp situation on every skulled player with orange square that tries to walk through you, this means they'll be able to kill you with no unjust punishment.

2. Yellow hand mode

If an enemy attacks a player that is not a guildmate, you will see a brown square surrounding him and you won't be able to use a white hand to attack him.

The yellow hand mode     can be used to attack ANY skulled player on the screen, either if he has an orange square surrounding him or not. The downside of using the yellow mode is that you WILL get pz locked as soon as you attack a PK, this means, you won't be able to enter any protection zone until your battle situation resets (1 minute after the last aggressive action).

This hand is mostly used to support any player from any guild by using mana potions on them or healing spells, also can be used to support a member of your guild or party that opened yellow mode on a PK and he's pz lock.

Note: With the yellow mode activated you risk opening pvp situation on any skulled player that tries to walk through you, this means they'll be able to kill you with no unjust punishment.

3. Red fist mode

By using the red mode  you will open skull and situation on every single player that tries to walk on you; also your area attacks will hit every player on screen and your magic walls will open situation on everyone that tries to walk on them. You have to be aware that if people were to die after you did any of the things listed, you will receive a % of unjust by each of their deads, this is quite a risky pvp hand mode for those that do not desire to get red skull characters.

This hand pvp mode is the only one that allows you to use mana potions or healing spells on a white skulled player, nevertheless, if you do so, you will open white skull and situation on every player attacking the PK that you supported and if they were to die, you will receive a % of unjust by each of their deads risking gaining red skull or black skull.

So when is this most used?

This red fist mode may sound ridiculously useless, never the less this also can be extremely helpful. Imagine the situation where you and your team are trying to kill a player, but this player reaches a stack or he puts himself in a situation where there are not enough square meters for your team to open skull on him, how could you kill him then? Well, this is when the red mode is useful, in this case, you can use one mana potion on the person or people that opened skull on the target and this will get you into their pvp situation, this means you will automatically open skull on the target, you'll be able to enter the stack or trap and attack him from there. This tactic is normally done only with makers.

4. Closed fist mode

The closed fist mode    can be used either to open a white skull on one certain target or to open yellow skull by attacking one certain PK on your screen. This is the most common pvp hand mode used by either of the two situations.

In the situation when there is a screen full of pks, it is the safest way to kill one by one without opening situation on all of them. Nevertheless, you have to be aware that if you were to avalanche a crowd of PKS on your screen, you risk placing your mouse and throwing the avalanche on one non-skulled player, hence this would make you open white skull yourself, therefore in a situation like this, is best to use it by the battle list with the option "Hide-non skulled players" checked.
